Opthalmic Screening at Home Heritage, Lazimpat

Today Rotaract club of Kist Medical College has successfully conducted “Free Ophthalmic Screening and health camp Phase I” in “Hope Hermitage “; an old age home consisting mainly Alzheimer's patients ,situated in Lazimpat. Total number of patients screened were 43 which included the elderly people of the old age home , staffs and also the local people. Around 14 rotaracters and other volunteers along with three interns were present to make this program a grand success. Cli nical examination such as visual acquity, reflex and binocular movements were done and the majority of chief complaint was found to be blurring of vision. And those patient in need of treatment were provided with free medicine. This was the completion of first phase of the screening and those who are in need of further treatment and management will be brought to Kist Medical College and teaching hospital. General meeting of August

Rotaract Club of KIST Medical College has successfully conducted its 3rd GENERAL MEETING of month August,35 rotaracters participated the program. The meeting was formally started at 4.00 pm with meeting call of president  Beebaychan Kasiv Thapa  than Secretary  Prativa Subedi ,PDO  Prashant Bhattarai , Treasurer  Aakriti Pandey  gave their brief presentation on updates and reports about all the projects and events conducted by the club. The meeting also included discussion on different agendas and plans of club with feedback of all the participants.

Flash Mob in Labim Mall to celebrate International Youth Day and spread Breast Cancer awareness

Kathmandu, August 13, 2017 : On the occasion of International Youth Day, Rotaract Club of KIST Medical College in association with Nepal Breast Cancer Foundation conducted a Flash Mob program at Labim Mall, Pulchowk on the theme ‘Breast Cancer Awareness’. https://www.facebook.com/abigaleg1/videos/1168726113271240 In order to grab the attention of the people strolling around the beautiful mall, Sanju Paudel, a student of KIST Medical College and participant dancer, performed a short and sweet song ‘ Chaubandi ma Patuki’  with her mesmerizing voice. No sooner the beautiful Rotaractors, all clad in pink, started dancing at the Labim floor, a big crowd gathered to watch them. The audiences huddled in no time and stared in awe at the girls shaking legs in sync in the women-oriented song. Club Officer's Training Session (COTS)

Rotaract Club of KIST Medical College successfully hosted the  Zonal COTS- Club Officers Training Session for Zone 7 and 8 at KIST MCTH lecture halls and auditorium. There were 166 participants from various Rotaract clubs and we were able to successfully raise Rs 2245/- for PPF(Poor Patient Fund) and Rs 900/- for the club's goodwill. The program provided an overview of club structure and fun teamwork activities as well as concurrent breakout sessions to provide with role-specific training to prepare all the Rotaractors for the upcoming year. Thank you to all the trainers and participants for making this program a huge success. We hope our friendship and bond as Rotaractors get even stronger in days to come.

CHOLERA prevention training

A full day Training on communication, social mobilization and data collection for Cholera prevention organized by YUWALAYA (an NGO of child club graduates) sponsored by UNICEF was held on 1st August, Tuesday at Aryal Hotel, Baneshwor from 9 am to 5 pm targeting the youths belonging from same or neighboring hotspot areas. 6 members from RAC Kist Medical College took part in the training with more than 50 youth delegates from different rotaract clubs and institutions.
