Opthalmic Screening at Home Heritage, Lazimpat

Today Rotaract club of Kist Medical College has successfully conducted “Free Ophthalmic Screening and health camp Phase I” in “Hope Hermitage “; an old age home consisting mainly Alzheimer's patients ,situated in Lazimpat. Total number of patients screened were 43 which included the elderly people of the old age home , staffs and also the local people. Around 14 rotaracters and other volunteers along with three interns were present to make this program a grand success. Clinical examination such as visual acquity, reflex and binocular movements were done and the majority of chief complaint was found to be blurring of vision. And those patient in need of treatment were provided with free medicine. This was the completion of first phase of the screening and those who are in need of further treatment and management will be brought to Kist Medical College and teaching hospital.
